Joan heads up Human Resources in Asia Pacific. She firmly believes in the importance of talent engagement and development -- seeing herself as the ‘Talent Concierge’. She was also the Asia Talent Leader prior leading HR in the region.

Joan has been with NielsenIQ for more than 20 years. Prior to the role in HR, Joan was the Managing Director of Singapore and Malaysia for close to ten years. Under her leadership, NielsenIQ has received multiple external awards every year, including the Market Research Agency of the Year for six consecutive years. She elevated the Company’s position in the industry through continuous outreach and collaboration with the community, education institutions, government bodies, industry groups and associations. Joan was also the President of Market Research Society of Singapore since 2013.

She is a passionate champion of Diversity & Inclusion, bringing about significant developments on talent diversity at NielsenIQ, including launching and driving ‘Women in NielsenIQ’ (WIN) across Asia Pacific, now being the Global Executive Sponsor for WIN at NielsenIQ.

Joan has been awarded the Top 50 Asia’s Women Leaders by CMO Asia and Executive of the Year (Consulting Category) by Singapore Business Review in 2016. In addition, under Joan’s leadership, Nielsen has also achieved the Employee Engagement of the Year (Consulting Category) by Singapore Business Review, which cemented our position as an employer of choice.

Joan is also a NielsenIQ certified executive coach and industry partner coach for National University of Singapore, and has been coaching and mentoring many talents both within and outside the company over the last many years.
