Prof Upasna A Agarwal is a Professor in Organization Behavior and Human Resource Management at NITIE. She is the chair of Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion cell at NITIE.

An MBA and master’s Labor Law from Symbiosis, Pune, she is a PhD from Indian Institute of Technology¸ Mumbai. Upasna launched her academic career at S.P Jain Institute of Management and Research¸ and has seven years of corporate experience prior to that. 

For the past three years, Upasna has been identified as top 2% of scientists' of the world by  Stanford University ranking. She has also been a recipient of AIMS International Outstanding Young Woman Management Researcher Award, NAOP’s Emerging Psychologist of India, Best Faculty in Human Resources and Organization Behavior, by World HRD Congress (2018) and has also received Best Young Teacher award by Higher Education Forum, among others. Upasna has over 3700 citations of her publications and a h- index of 25

Prof Upasna conducts training programs for Managers at various corporates and PSUs on leadership, Communication and Negotiations. She has guided four PhD students

Upasna’s research and teaching areas are Women Entrepreneurship, Talent Management and Organizational effectiveness, Gender and Inclusion, Cross Generational Differences, among others. She has conducted her research in for profit organizations, non-for profit organizations, MSME’s Healthcare organizations as well as Project organizations. In her teaching she has designed and conducted modules on various aspects of personal and team effectiveness for middle and senior managers of public- and private-sector organizations and NGOs. 

Upasna has over 3067 citations of her publications and a h- index of 22. She has published her work in National and International journals and also presented them at national and international conferences- Academy of Management, British Academy of Management, International Human resource Management Conference, to name a few. Some of her recent publications are in Management Decision, International Journal of Manpower, Journal of Advanced Nursing, International Journal of Human resource Management, Personnel Review, International Journal of Organizational Analysis and Career Development International. Upasna is a recipient of 2010 Award for Excellence in thesis work from IIT Bombay.  She has also received Outstanding Paper award from Emerald Literati Network. Her thesis-based papers were recognized and awarded the CIPD Best Paper Award at Aston in 2010 and at the 12th International Human Resource Management Conference held at Gurgaon in 2012
